3 Simple Exercises To Tone Your Arms

Sagging arms make you look older than you are! Try these simple exercises for toned arms. All you need is dedication and a pair of dumbbells or weights of some kind to begin with. Include these exercises in your workout regime for super toned arms:

The Classic Push Up

The classic and the most basic exercise, push ups gives super toned arms. Get into a plank position with palms beside the shoulders, tighten your abs and slowly lower your body until your chest touches the floor. Exhale as you lift the body back to the starting position. Getting the basics right is the key to this workout. Once mastered, the result will be visible within a few weeks. Do 3 sets of 10 repetitions a day to begin with.

If this seems difficult, start with pushups on the knees instead of toes and move on to the regular ones as you build strength. Alternatively, try doing pushups against a sturdy table to make it easier. Simply lean on the counter or table with your arms and go for it.

Dumbbells

Hold the dumbbells on the sides of the body with palms facing outwards. Tighten your abs, bend your hands at the elbows and slowly bring the wrist up to shoulder height. Turn palms out and lift arms up straight. Bring them down again to the shoulders, turn your palms inwards and bring them down again slowly. Start with one set of 8 to 10 repetitions and move to 3 sets of 15 repetitions. This exercise works your shoulders, biceps and triceps. Do the exercises slowly for maximum benefit. The slower you move the more toned your arms become.

Arm and Leg Lift

Though it looks simple, this is a very effective exercise for well toned arms. Get down on your hands and knees with arms below the shoulders and knees below the hips much like a baby crawling. Slowly lift and stretch your right arm forward and out, simultaneously lifting the left foot backwards. Hold the position for a few seconds and slowly come back on all fours. Repeat with the other arm and legs. Repeat 15 to 20 times on both sides.
